Why Repipe?

Copper repiping is a process of replacing existing pipes in a home or business. Most structures built twenty-five years ago or more were fitted with galvanized pipes coated with zinc. As the galvanized pipes age, the zinc lining tends to erode letting rust form. The build-up of rust decreases the diameter of the pipe and restricts the water flow until only a trickle of water is able to pass through. In many cases rust colored water will come out every time a fixture is turned on.

There is no truly effective way to remove rust and build-up or to reverse the scaling process in a galvanized piping system which is why, when the galvanized pipes are extremely corroded, homeowners prefer to replace galvanized pipes with copper pipes.
