Routine Sewer Line Cleaning

Aug 02, 2013

imgRoutine Sewer line cleanings are one of the most important things you can do to protect your sewer system. If you do not maintain your sewer line, you could end up with a major clog or even a broken or separated line that will end up costing a lot of money, time and effort.

Tree roots are the most common cause of clogs and damage to older sewer lines and sewer lines that have not been maintained properly. The signs of sewer line problems are water backing up usually into a tub or shower, slow-draining fixtures, gurgling sounds coming from your drains, and smelling raw sewage or hearing noises from your pipes after running your dishwasher or washing machine.

Since older sewer lines were typically made up of short sections of clay pipe they tend to crack and separate easily over time. Agasi Plumbing & Water Systems will locate the sewer line on your property by inserting a video camera and a sensor device to reveal the condition of the entire sewer line from the structure to the street. Once the damaged sections are located we will remove the broken area and replace it with new heavy-duty solid ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) pipes. We also recommend installing a “cleanout” or an opening on the line so it can be maintained easily in the future.
